The spectacle ended with a big peaceful fire who was warming the hearts of everybody.

The show itself was thrilling and many spectators experienced goose flesh while looking at the performance: the music and the dancing, the complete silence,...

A fire-sound-light show, every year a very special event, was organised on August the 14^th. Take a look behind the scene...

The 16th of August the children discovered Neptunus, called 'Neppie', God of the Sea all alone floating on a raft on the lake. He had troubles with the sea witch. The children helped ‘Neppie’ by tempting the sea witch to go to a trap where they had created a fake treasure decoy.

Every Monday in high season there is a theme day for the children around a special theme with funny characters.

The 2th of August a Tree man came to visit Le Couderc.  

Many activities on Le Couderc took place these last six weeks:

the fireworks of 14^th of July, the spooky night – no flashlights permitted -, the weekly ‘Open Podium’ on Wednesday nights, workshops juggling, circus spectacles of Pierres circus, etc.etc. They were all great and we didn't put it on the internet. So, time for some news and pictures from Le Couderc!

 ‘The Couderc Band’, playing two Sunday afternoons on the terrace of Le Couderc, was brilliant. Under the warm sun of the Dordogne and a glass of wine nearby, people listened to the musicians.

There is now an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) available at Le Couderc. Some of our team has acquired the kowledge and skills to use the AED in case of emergency.

Camping guests who stay at the flower meadow have now easy access to drinking water. They no longer have to walk the distance to the facilities at the family or museum meadow to fill up their containers.

We, at Le Couderc, try to spare our planet in our own way. With small investments and change of habits we want to help to create a better environment. For instance by working together with farmers in our neighbourhood who deliver their products directly to our campsite. It is the ideal way to reduce the CO2 emission. The beef we serve in our restaurant is coming from a biological farm not far from us (the farmers name is also Le Couderc :)). Fresh strawberries are delivered a few times a week from Saint Léon d'Issigeac, a small village near the campsite. Our house wine is also produced in this village. There is still a lot of work to do but we are convinced that these small initiatives do help to create a environmental friendly world.

The camping opens on the first of April and the day after we'll welcome our first guests of this season. The swimming pool is on temperature, the terraces are swept and cleaned, tables and chairs are in their place. These last weeks we enjoyed the warm sun of spring while working outside. Very special is that Marieke is creating a work of art at the jacuzi. Look at the photographs and see what we ahve done recently to make your stay at the Couderc a pleasant one!

The construction of the new chalets on the podium meadow has been finished. Thanks to Eric the connection of the facilities went twice as fast. Eric, thank you very much!

La Rainette, the new chalet on the podium meadow that's adapted for wheelchairs, is the first chalet that has been constructed. The result is magnificent! The interior is beautiful and: very spacious, modern and luxurious.

The rates of 2010 are available on the website. This year we have also very interesting discounts in low season. On top of the low season rates we offer an additional discount up to 40% depending on the length of your stay!

It is October and the cranes passed Le Couderc on their way to the south: every year it's a wonderful spectacle of nature. The season of 2009 is finished but we are already making plans for the next season!

This months four new chalets will be constructed on the podium meadow.  All the chalets on the campsite have names of a flower or an animal in the environment. The new ones will get names of reptiles who are living on Le Couderc: 'Le Salamandre' (the salamander), 'Le Lézard' (the lizard), 'Le Crapaud' (the toad) et 'La Rainette' (the grenouille). 'La Rainette' can accomodate physically disabled people. More information you can find on our site: Chalets/Types of chalets. Soon the rates of 2010 will be available on our website.

Latest news! Within a couple of days WIFI will be available on all the campside. You can stay at your tent or caravan to surf the net or collect your mail. Up untill now this was only possible aroun the terrace of the bar and restaurant.

When you don't  have a laptop it is still possible to surf the net or send and collect your mail using the PC near the reception. WIFI and normal internet cards are for sale at the shop.

Benk senior, founder of the campsite, passed away at the age of 82 on Monday June 22nd. During his illness of more than three years his wife Nelleke lovingly cared for him.

Good news for all ping pong players! Nico and Klaas installed two brand new tables next to the volleyball field. Ping pong rackets are available at the bar. Are you ready for an intense tournament?:)

Thursday the 30th of April there was a 'soirée préhistorique". It took place in the barn (our bar). More than 70 people enjoyed the 'prehistoric' food like duck on the barbecue and the children could bake little rolls on the fire.

For some impressions, you can click on the Cro Magnon who suddenly turned up in the bar. 

On the 28th of April the first Open Podium of the season took place. There was a full program of 19 acts that promised us a wonderful evening. While it was raining outside, it was cosy and warm in the bar with the fire burning. It became a fantastic evening full of music, stories and dance!

Yes, you can! The solar system and heating pomp are doing their jobs. Today, the 24th of April the water is already 24 degrees Celsius.  A very nice temperature for swimming. The proof you can see on your right!

For our guests and friends we organised a lunch for Easter in our restaurant. After sitting near the fire place in the bar for 'l'apéritif", we moved to our restaurant to enjoy the soupe, the large buffet with delicious salads, the cheeses and desserts. Finally at 5 p.m.we all went home or back to the chalet. Some of us took a relaxing sauna to finish. What's a better way to pass Easter???? We hope everyone enjoyed it!
